PARKER, Florence Edith (nee Irwin). At the Cornwall General Hospital on Thursday, July 12, 2001 at the age of eighty-seven years. Beloved wife of the late Gilbert S. Parker. Dear mother of Susan (Mrs. Brian Casselman) of Cornwall and Janice (Mrs. Reg Bindon) of Mississauga, Ontario. Proud grandmother of Liane (Mrs. Michael Kastely) of Apsley, Ontario and Lisa Lamarche of Mississauga. Dear sister-in-law Ida (nee Dunn) Irwin, wife of the late Bob Irwin. Predeceased by two brothers Lloyd and Bob Irwin, a sister-in-law Mary (May) (nee MacCandlish), wife of the late Lloyd Irwin. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 16 from 2 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 3 p.m. in the McArthur Bros. & MacNeil Funeral Home Chapel, 428 Second Street East, Cornwall. Rev. Michael Hermann of Knox St. Paul's United Church officiating. Interment of cremated remains at St. Lawrence Valley Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the CNIB (Research of Macular Degeneration) would be appreciated by the family.

Tuesday, September 5, 2000, Smith Falls North Unit Hospital. Jim's family was his greatest joy. Born May 26, 1921 to Mary Evelyn (nee Thompson) and Harold Hester Pendergast in Cornwall, Ontario. Eldest of six children, brothers and sisters Elizabeth (Bill), Bill (Margaret), Frank (Theresa), Lally (Joan) and Marion (Dale); married his dearest Mary Margaret (nee Denton) October 21, 1944; children Denton of Victoria, BC; Peggi (George Vigil) of Los Alamos, NM; Elizabeth Anne (Hermann Wallner) of Heron Lake, ON; Harold (Linda Klimm) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Christopher, Annie and Keenan. Attended Cornwall Separate School 1928-1934 and Cornwall Collegiate Institute 1935-1940; S.D. & G. Highlanders - 1937; enlisted Canadian Army Active Service Force - 1940; commissioned - October 1943; instructor RMC - 1944; Royal Canadian Artillery Staff Course - 1950; Canadian Army Staff College - 1953; U.N. Observer Group in Lebanon - 1958; Command Secretary Headquarters Mobile Command - 1964-1965; Executive Officer, Assistant Chief of Staff Land Operations, HQ NATO Allied Forces Central Europe - 1968-1971; retired Canadian Forces Lieutenant-Colonel - May 1972; appointed Assistant Director Operations, National Museum of Man (now Canadian Museum of Civilization), National Museums of Canada - 1972; Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa), McGill University, Montreal - 1976; retired from National Museum of Man, National Museums of Canada - 1978. Jim was a notable and colourful contributor in his many areas of interest as reflected by his numerous military, archeological and volunteer awards and commendations, most recent among these The Smith-Wintemberg Award presented in May of this year by the Canadian Archeological Association. Jim's was a most kind, inquisitive and incisive mind as most who met him soon came to know. His is a lasting and important contribution to the archeology of Eastern Ontario with over 60 publications dating from 1962 to 2000 and many papers presented to learned societies both in Canada and the United States. Always ready to lend help and support, Jim will be missed by friends, colleagues and family. His solutions brought a fresh perspective and humour to a many a sticky problem. A founding member of the Canadian Ski Museum, an avid skier, a landscaper and horticulturist, a chemist, a geologist, a birdwatcher and a raconteur, Jim never ceased to amaze us! He showed us how to live life to the max. He continues to be loved. We shall all miss him and it will be a darn good miss. Visiting hours Thursday, September 7, 2000 at Lannin Funeral Home, Smith Falls, 14:00 to 16:00 and 19:00 to 21:00. Funeral St. Anne's Church, Merrickville, Friday, September 8, 2000 at 11:00. Cremation to follow. Reception at the Royal Canadian Legion, Merrickville.

At the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Friday, January 12, 2001, in her 61st year. Beloved wife of the late Andre Proulx, and dear mother of David MacAleese and finace Catharine Fennell of Toronto, Jon MacAleese and his wife Rhonda of Kitchener, Faith Marien and her husband Luc of Cornwall, and Esther MacAleese of Ottawa. Dearest grandmother of Jessica. Resting at the Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where the family will receive friends on Monday (today) from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rob Davis officiating. Interment Mount View Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Waterloo Regional Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on December 15, 2000 at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital; aged 54 years. Charles Parr of Alexandria, loving companion of Patricia Lyall. Caring stepfather of Barbara Lyall and Beverly Lyall. Cherished grandfather of Christopher Lyall, Errick Lyall, and Alisha Lyall. Charles is the son of the late Charles H. Parr Sr., and the late Elsie Thompson. Charles will be sadly missed by numerous friends and family. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes, 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, Ontario 613-525-2772 on January 13, 2001. Time of service not yet confirmed. She leaves to mourn her children, Bibiane (Bob Ouellette), the late Richard (Nicole Morrissette), Elaine (Gerry Kinlough), Gisele (Pierre Jobin), Sylvain (Ginette Bergeron), many grandchildren, her great-grandson, sister Liliane, brother Laurent as well as parents and friends. According to her last wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral will take place on Monday, March 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Sacre-Coeur Church, Alexandria, Ontario. Cemetery at Sacre-Coeur Church as well. Son of the late Charles Passmore and the late Jessie Hawarth. Loved father of Wayne Passmore (Debbie), Ottawa; Eileen Cunningham (Ron), Barrie; and Laura Plante (Ken) of Oakville. Dear brother of Charles Passmore Jr. of Vancouver and Ruth Cicalo (Nick) of Montreal. Sadly missed by grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Bryan, and Anna Cunningham, Jessica, Kristina, and Joshua Plante and Kaitlyn Passmore. To honour the previously expressed wishes of the deceased no visitation will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
